Rebecca's Books

In November 1998, Rebecca Pinker lost her 19 year old daughter, Jana, to a rare form of cancer. Struggling to find a way through her grief, Pinker eventually composed the 70 heartfelt poems that comprise The Cry of a Mother's Heart. This book is available for purchase at the link below.

Cry of a Mother's Heart

This new collection of poems by Rebecca Pinker, Home By A Different Way, is both very personal and universal in appeal.  Pinker focuses on views of family, life before loss, grief, and beginnings of hope for a new future.  Far from gloomy, solitary (and sometimes fiercely contemplative) reflections on grief are followed by nascent expressions of hope for a life that is irrevocably changed.   Pinker uses a powerful sense of language and imagery to convey coming to terms with changes that are unexpected, unasked for, and heartbreaking.  However, as with the inevitable cycle of seasons, change can also provide comfort with an abiding belief in the promise of renewed life, albeit redirected or redefined.  This book is available for purchase at the link below.
