The Jana E. Pinker Memorial Foundation awards scholarships at the high school and college levels. Click on the links to view the applications in PDF format. Jana graduated from Olathe South High School, was confirmed at Advent Lutheran Church and attended Johnson County Community College as a member of Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society. Olathe North, Olathe East and Olathe Northwest students serve as volunteers at our fundraisers throughout the year.  We are also pleased to announce two additional scholarships offered to high school seniors, the USD 233 Diversity Scholarship and the Johnson County Essay Scholarship.  With the eight high school scholarships at $250 and the two college schlarships at $500, we are very proud of our $3,000 annual scholarship budget.

 
   
   

Olathe South Golden Girls -- Application Deadline, March 1
The Olathe South Golden Girls' scholarship was the first scholarship awarded by The Jana E. Pinker Memorial Foundation. It is awarded in the spring at an awards ceremony at Olathe South. Jana was a member of the Drill Team as are candidates for this scholarship.  The Drill Team exemplifies the dedication and discipline Jana enjoyed some much with her participation in this extracurricular activity.

Olathe North Student Council -- Application Deadline, March 1
The scholarship at Olathe North is awarded to a member of the student council. It is our way of saying thank you for their continued support.

Olathe East Choir -- Application Deadline, March 1
The scholarship we award at Olathe East goes to a student in the Choir. The Foundation is committed to ensuring a diverse recipient base with respect to academics, athletics and other extracurricular activities and the Choir at Olathe East is a fantastic organization that helps us do that.

Olathe Northwest

International Language -- Application Deadline, March 1
The scholarship we award at Olathe Northwest goes to a student in the International Language Department. Through the Foundation's continued efforts to ever broaden our recipient base, we are pleased to offer this year for the first time, 2006-2007, the International Language Scholarship at Olathe Northwest.

Olathe USD 233

Diversity Scholarship -- Application Deadline, March 1

This scholarship is new for the 2006-2007 academic year and is awarded to any graduating Olathe High school senior who is involved with any one of a number of diversity clubs within the USD 233 school district.

Johnson County High School

Essay Scholarship -- Application Deadline, March 1

This is the fourth new scholarship for the 2006-2007 academic year and it is our hope to increase our scholarship awards to include more area high school seniors.

Advent Lutheran Church x 2 -- Application Deadline, March 1
This academic year, 2006-2007, will be the first year that two (2) scholarships will be available.  The Advent Lutheran Church Youth scholarships are awarded to two members of Advent who are seniors in the youth group. The Youth Group at Advent was a large part of Jana's life and a place where she enjoyed communing with friends, family and her God. Jana was confirmed at Advent Lutheran Church and we are proud to keep these scholarships a central part of our scholarship awards.

JCCC Phi Theta Kappa
This scholarship is the second of our college level scholarships. It is awarded in the spring to a member of Phi Theta Kappa who will be returning to Johnson County Community College in the fall to pursue their Associates of Arts degree.

JCCC Transfer -- Application Deadline, April 24
This scholarship is the first college-level scholarship the Foundation offered. Candidates are members of Phi Theta Kappa National Honor Society and graduating with an Associates of Arts from Johnson County Community College in the spring and transferring to a four-year institute to pursue a Bachelors degree. Jana was also a graduate from Johnson County Community College and member of Phi Theta Kappa.
