The Jana E. Pinker Memorial Foundation has been involved with several community events and assisting others in growth. We look forward to our continued commitment to advancing not only our communiyt, but also those individuals with in it. In 2009 we fulfilled an annual grant budget of $1,000.
Lighting of Pleasant Valley Every year on Christmas Eve Day, The Jana E. Pinker Memorial Foundation invites you to participate in the Lighting of Pleasant Valley Cemetery. Between 12pm and 2pm, we gather at the cemetery to make luminaries. The Foundation provides the paper bags, sand and candles. In addition, the Pinker Family also provides cider and hot chocolate along with Christmas breads and cakes. Then between 5pm and 7pm, we return to light them for Christmas Eve. We look forward to seeing you this year.
Memorial Day at Pleasant Valley The Foundation invites you to a Memorial Day Celebration. Every Memorial Day, the Foundation sponsors a potluck bar-b-que at Pleasant Valley. Pleasant Valley adorns the cemetery with festive flags and we congregate to enjoy the holiday with friends and family and good food. Hope to see you there.
Advent Lutheran Youth Group Once every three years, the youth group of Advent Lutheran Church attends a Lutheran Youth Conference. The Foundation assists the group with expenses. Jana thoroughly enjoyed being a part of the youth group and we are pleased to continue our support. Hardship Assistance With a very successful fudnraising year in 2008-2009, we were able, on a small level, to assistance various organizations in fullfilling their annual financial obligations. This is not a grant we have available every year but we are pleased we were able to offer it this year. For more information please write to us at info@janaepinker.org.
Future The Foundation is always looking for new ways with which we can have a positive impact on our community. Some future grant ideas include seminars and workshops on various subjects from business to health to community activism.
